These are all sites that I've either subscribed to or check out regularly. I endorse them all with a vigor that verges on fervor!Slashdot News for Nerds. Stuff that matters. Updated constantly, Slashdot is a treasure-trove of information about the absolute cutting-edge news from the many fascinating worlds of science, as well as other news that intelligent people will find piques and holds their interest. A lot of great ideas and innovations get reported first (or a close second!) on Slashdot that otherwise gets ignored by mainstream media. Wikipedia. Wikipedia. Is there anything it can't do? Hours and hours can be spent browsing this site, picking up treasure troves of information. And if Wikipedia doesn't provide enough information, it's a great launching pad to track down experts who are nearly always happy to help out. Steve Pavlina Steve is, frankly, awesome. He's a successful and inspiring personal development blogger. Not strictly related to creative writing, I nevertheless can't recommend reading over his stuff enough. With over 900 articles freely available, there's sure to be something at his sight that will challenge you, make you grow, or at least provide a few giggles. Steve is directly responsible for providing me with the insights and confidence I needed to quit work and write full time, so I owe him my thanks for that. John Scalzi A singularly funky, witty, gifted writer. Check out his blog or, if you're after something a bit Starship Troopers-ey with even more piercing wit and less preachiness, give Old Man's War a go. Storm the Castle A site dedicated to creativity in fantasy, writing, making video games and other fantasy-related hobbies and projects. Fun and varied. Check it out!
