Submissions, reviews and guest posts
Write-Thing is run solely by Pip Hunn, and sometimes his hands get sore, he has a day of slackness or he’s off fighting ninjas on the back of his cyborg-crocodile.
Not to mention that the Internet’s full of people who are eleven times more interesting, loquacious, funny, glib, perspicacious and productive than he is.
With that in mind, Write Thing is very, very keen to spend time sharing with its visitors the awesomeness that can be found online. Here’s how to get your stuff posted on the website:
Guest Posts
If you want to appear on Write Thing’s blog as a unique entry, then simply email me: pip (at) pip hunn with a dot and a com at the end, with the subject title “GUEST POST”. Include the post itself, a brief one-or-two-line bio, and the URL of any site you want to plug.
- Posts should be a decent length. A minimum of 500 words is a good place to be thinking. Anything less than that and you probably aren’t exploring your topic, rant, theme in enough detail.
- Posts can be about any topic related to Write Thing’s content. Talk about writing, the practise, give us some hints on a technique you’ve developed, review a book, whine about Amazon, whatever.
- Self-promotion is OK if it’s sneaky enough that I can’t notice it. If you want to talk about how great your blog / book / cat is, then a guest post isn’t the way to do it. Instead, send me something to review and let your work stand on its own merits.
Links
Write Thing publishes a fortnightly what’s-on newsletter. If you have an article or something of interest posted on your own website, and you think it will interest my readers here, then send me an email: pip (at) pip hunn with a dot and a com. If I think it’s groovy enough, I’ll post a link to it in the newsletter. No reciprocal links or any of that nonsense are required, but if you like my site enough, consider giving it a shout-out.
Reviews
I’ll review anything you want. If it’s in electronic format, email it to me: pip (at) pip hunn with a dot and a com.
If it’s in hard copy – and anything longer than about 20 pages should probably be – mail it to me:
Pip Hunn
12 Queen St
Tasmania, 7005
AUSTRALIA
And I’ll look into it and review it on the website within a reasonable timeframe.
General enquiries:
Send me an email, pip (at) pip hunn with a dot and a com.
I 100% promise to reply, because if you’re cool enough to send me an email, I owe it to you to resond.
Thanks!
